Near mint condition

The German tenor was a favorite of Cosima Wagner, who hired him in 1898 to sing Loge at the 1899 Bayreuth Festspiele; also Siegmund, Siegfried and Lohengrin. He had a Metropolitan Opera contract at the time of his early death.

The legendary lyric tenor pens a quotation about music by poet Torquato Tasso on a large album leaf. Included is a scarce, original H. A. Atwell of Chicago large matte photograph of Bonci costumed as Rodolfo in “La Boheme”.
