|
Autographed 8” x 10” original Yvonne LeRoux double-weight semi-gloss autographed and inscribed photograph of the Greek bass, 1956. Moscona studied in Athens with Elena Theodorini and was discovered by Edward Johnson in 1937 and engaged for Ramfis in “Aida” the same year. His Metropolitan Opera contract led to engagements with both La Scala and Florence in 1938, he was also engaged for a 1938 Verdi Requiem by Toscanini in London with Milanov, Thorborg and Roswaenge. Thereafter he was essentially a Metropolitan Opera singer, though he did occasionally sing at La Scala and the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome. In 1945 he became an American citizen and after his retirement, taught at AVA in Philadelphia. RARE! |
