Autographed sympathy card to soprano Ruth Miller upon the death of her husband, tenor Mario Chamlee, 1966. The playboy opera tenor turned Spanish language movie star Mojica became a Franciscan monk in 1942. Autographs from this period are extremely scarce and this letter with major association and signed three times is superb and desirable. The tenor writes on the verso of the card:
Dear Ruth: I knew about the going to eternal life of our dear Mario. Have already offered prayers for him, I am sure he is much happier than us. Have left word to let you and your company immediately into the stage. Hope to see you soon. Blessings Fray José
The tenor had arranged several concerts starting in 1954 to benefit his monastery. He signs twice in full on the other side.
