Autographed and inscribed 6” x 9” Montacchini of Palermo photograph of the tenor as the Duke of Mantua, February, 1933. This is a textured photograph which does not scan well and is far better in person. Lo Giudice hailed from Palermo from a family of singers. He created the role of Hanan in Rocca’s “Il Dibuk” in 1934 and sung at the important theatres of Italy. The Duke of Mantua was a calling card, however, he writes Tosca and Traviata at the bottom of the photograph. Other roles included Enzo, Rodolfo and Ismaele. Incredibly scarce, especially in larger photographs. |
