Autographed 7” x 9” Mishkin photograph on an 8” x 10” mat of the golden age soprano/mezzo-soprano as Isolde. Matzenauer had a truly unique voice and was able to truly transcend both the spinto soprano roles and the lowest mezzo roles. Both Waltraute, Amneris, Azucena, Rosina (Nozze), Isolde and Brunnehilde were regular parts of her diet. She left many amazing records, her Brindisi in “Lucrezia Borgia” is difficult to rival. |
