9” x 12” original matte photograph of the legendary ballerina of the Ballets Russe as Sylvia, archivally matted with a mylar cover and acid free mats with a huge autograph at the base. Nemitchinova (1900-1984) began with the ballets Russe at the age of 15. By 1924, Diaghilev elevated her to prima ballerina assoluta. She starred with other companies as well. Nijinska choreographed the lead in “Les Biches” for her. Balanchine created “Aubade” for her. Other choreographers who created ballets with her as the lead include; Dolin, Fokine and Massine.
