Autographed and inscribed 8” x 10” Moffett of Chicago photograph of the lyric tenor, January 27, 1932. Hackett, born in Worcester, Massachusetts, was a protégé of Lillian Nordica. The tenor finished his signing education with Vincenzo Lombardi in Florence, making his stage debut in Pavia, 1915, under the name of Carlo Ackett. He remained in Italy through 1917, singing at the Teatro Carlo Felice and the Teatro Costanzi. Hackett came back to the U.S. in 1919 with a contract at the Metropolitan Opera. Later he continued his international career including, La Scala, Covent Garden, Monte Carlo and Chicago. An exceptional image! |
